Our Special Visitors

On Thursday the 12th of December 2013 Comley Park School welcomed some very special visitors to our school.  A special announccement was made at the school -   Holly Cram is the Game On ambassador for the Commonwealth Games.

We even made it onto the BBC news, see link below. 

Holly Cram

Holly is an international hockey player with over 100 caps for Scotland and Team GB.

12 Comely Park pupils were choosen to participate in a hockey session with Holly.  They all really enjoyed it and said she was inspiring to them.

Shona Robison

Shona Robison also came to our school on the 12th of December and she made the special announcement.  Shona Robison is the Minister for Sport and the Commonwealth.  Four Primary 7 pupils interviewed Mrs Robison and asked her questions abut her role in the Commonwealth Games.

Mrs Robison presented Mrs Collins with the second ever Game On plaque in Scotland. She was really pleased to hear about all the things our school are planning to do in the build up to the Games and the legcay of the games.  She was intereted to hear about our link with a school in Trinidad.  Here is a link to the school we are linked with.

Clyde the Mascot

The pupils from Comely Park School were very excited about the arrival of Clyde the Mascot.  He attended the school assembly and demonstrated some of the different sport in the Commonwealth Games.  He also handed out special awards for pupils at the school.
